Funnel Privacy
DRAFT — Pending Lawyer Review. This copy is a working draft and has not been approved by counsel. Do not treat it as final legal advice until it clears legal review.
What we record when you use a code
When you land on a code's page or type one in, we record the code you used, a timestamp, and whether it resolved (or was unknown, expired, or malformed). If you go on to start or complete a checkout during that visit, we record the sponsor placement it came from -- which brand, platform, and specific video or post (e.g. a particular YouTube mid-roll) -- alongside that checkout.
The attribution cookie
A first-party cookie, set only on our own store's domain, carries the code's brand/platform/placement from the page you land on through to checkout so the purchase can be linked back to it. It is httpOnly (no page script can read it) and expires automatically after 30 minutes -- long enough to cover browsing and buying in one sitting, never a durable identifier that follows you afterward.
Why we record it
This exists to answer one question: whether a specific sponsor placement drove a landing, a checkout, or a purchase, so we can measure whether a given video or post is working. It is not used to build a profile of you, target ads at you, or track you outside this store.
What we do not do
No third-party trackers, ad pixels, analytics scripts, or cross-site tracking of any kind are used anywhere in this funnel. Nothing here fingerprints your device, and we do not record your IP address or device details as part of attribution. kai-studio, who produces the sponsored videos, only prints a code into a video -- it never receives redemption or purchase data back from us.
Retention
The attribution cookie expires and is discarded automatically after 30 minutes, whether or not you buy anything. The underlying redemption, checkout, and order records are retained as ordinary business/analytics history (the same way we keep order records generally) so the funnel numbers stay accurate over time; we do not run a separate deletion job against them today.
Who can see this
Only an internal, admin-flagged account can view the aggregated funnel counts (landings, checkouts, purchases per code and placement). This data is never shared externally or sold to any third party.
Governing terms
This page is a draft summary for point-of-sale disclosure and does not replace psc's full privacy policy or terms of service, both of which are pending legal review. Contact support with questions if you need clarification.
